This special packaged 4 day gorilla trekking safari takes you into two of the three countries. It is an opportunity to explore and make comparisons between two habitats and make your own discoveries.
Day 1 of 4 Days Double gorilla trekking in volcanoes and Mgahinga national park : Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
This cross country gorilla trekking safari begins when driver picks you on your arrival at Kigali International airport . He will transfer you to your hotel close to Volcanoes National Park.
Day 2 of 4 Days Double gorilla trekking in volcanoes and Mgahinga national park: Trekking Gorillas
Begin your exciting gorilla trekking expedition with a heavy breakfast and head to tourism office to reconfirm booking, meet and greet other trekking team, get assigned ranger guides and head into the hilly forests. Besides gorillas, the thick forests are full to the brim with lots of fauna and flora species each special in its own way and gorilla trekking is not merely meeting these humble giants but getting personal with entire ecosystem and make a balanced judgment. The gorilla trekking team will follow all leads that yield to location of gorilla feeding site and you have living your dream to take photos and make discoveries before you ascend to the base camp.
You will have lunch and head to Uganda crossing at Cyanika border post. You will spend a night in Kisoro town very close to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
Day 3 of 4 Days Double gorilla trekking in volcanoes and Mgahinga national park. Mgahinga Gorilla trek
Another exciting day to trek mountain gorillas and get personal with another gorilla family across the border in an almost similar terrain. The protruding Muhabura, Gahinga and Sabinyo look menacing and an unwritten invitation for another physical confrontation on your Rwanda safari. Report at tourism Rangers’ office before 7.30am and get acclimatized to the wild environment. You will shortly set off for the steep and rugged terrain on the lookout for Ugandan gorillas and scan all corners till you meet up with the track family. You will spend approximately an hour with them, taking photos, admire them interacting with each other and getting excited by their humane behaviors. You will then descend the steep slopes via the tourism office onto your hotel for lunch. You will head to Kabale town admiring Uganda tour and check in at a hotel on the shores of Lake Bunyonyi and enjoy the serenity of Uganda safari till lights fade.
Day 4 of 4 Days Double gorilla trekking in volcanoes and Mgahinga national park: Transfer to Entebbe airport
You will wake up at the first light and take a hot cup of coffee as you head onto the jetty for a 2 hour boat cruise. You will pass by beautiful floating islands and fishermen casting their nets beginning their day’s activity and watch a stunning sunset with bright sunrays reflecting in your eyes. Get back to the hinterland and begin your Uganda travel to Kampala and Entebbe International Airport. You will have lunch at the equator line crossing area, take memorable photos and buy African craft souvenir for home. Safari driver will take you to the airport for your outbound flight marking end of Rwanda-Uganda gorilla expedition
